1 yellow cake mix
2 t salt
2 T yeast
5 C flour
Combine with 2 1/2 C hot water. Stir, then knead until stiff dough forms. Let rise until doubled. Punch down and roll out.
Spread with:
1/4 C butter
2 T cinnamon
3/4 C sugar
Roll up and slice about 1 inch thick. Place on greased cookie sheet. Let rise until doubled and bake at 350* for 20-25 minutes.
(Note: The trick to keeping these soft is NOT letting them brown on top. I usually bake mine for about 15 minutes and they are SO good. Top with homemade cream cheese frosting to make them extra good. Or add some grated orange peel and juice to the dough in place of some of the water for orange rolls. Then replace the cinnamon with orange peel and squeeze some juice on for the filling. Top with cream cheese frosting made with juice instead of milk
